All the Northeast of Brazil is known for its superb weather and constant
is it then that our Project has even better weather when compared to
all others in the same region or in
Natal (City of Sun, only 84 km more to the south)?
of all we are most North-east location of Latin America ( and we already
know that being more north-east means better weather ).
original Mata Atlantica ( tropical forest that extends along
the Atlantic coast of Brazil from Rio Grande do Norte state in the north
to Rio Grande do Sul state in the south ) extends north only until Natal.
Sign that humidity and rain is decreasing.
vegetation, although always green, is not a real forest vegetation and
differs from that of Natal and even slightly of that of Touros (just
6 km away).
Brazilians learn at school that our location is the "Corner of
Brazil" or "where the winds turns".
will tell you that the (local) sea breeze keeps or pushes (eventual)
clouds away (inland and west).
in fact, the rather local turning of the winds and the subsequent local
increase in wind speed temporarily evaporates eventual clouds before
our location and beach ( the Praia do Calcanhar ) ( and possibly condensate
them again after it passes over our location as the speed of the breeze
decreases again ).
can check this with the responsible officers working at the meteorological
station ( stationed in the lighthouse ).
make observations every day and send the data to a central station (
data are used for the Brazilian weather forecasts ).
Sunday ( between 14:00 and 17:00 ) you can visit the second highest
active lighthouse of the world.
( 62m high and the highest of South America )
just ask the owners or testimonies, they all are amazed seeing that
the eventual rare clouds that treaten to approach evaporate or open
way before their own eyes over and over.
