Brazil potential now on a global track
Once Brazil came on the radar it became clear it offers the ideal mix for production and growth
( largest potential of hydro and wind energy, largest reserves of the best quality of the main commodities ( iron etc ), largest reserves and quality of fresh water and largest area of agricultural land and a year round tropical to subtropical climate with good precipitation and large rivers )
International energy investors and wind turbine producers are lining up and waiting for their chance to build wind farms in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
That is because it is the single one large area where the potential for wind energy production is superior to all others over the world ( and several times higher than the best places in Europe ) conected to a (inter)national grid covering the size of a continent.
Every year there are ever bigger auctions for more wind energy and every year the investors are more with bigger investments.
This year the proposed installed capacity of this investors is over five times larger than the consumption of the whole state of Rio Grande do Norte. Together with auctions for windenergy and windfarms, there are auctions for transmission girds as well.
This happens simultaneous with the auction for one of the biggest airports of the world and of course this is no coincidence.
Rio Grande do Norte will quickly become a big international hub ( also for windenergy production, turbines industry and windenergy technology ).
With the wind energy farms already under construction Rio Grande do Norte already is self sufficient in wind energy alone ( do not forget about 90 % of the Brazilian electricity is produced by hydro mainly on its large rivers ).
Backup of power, if ever necessary, can be realized in the huge Brazilian hydropower lakes.
Brazil has the potential to run wind energy at its best and cheaper than gas and small hydro and this will further attract investments, production and growth. There is no subsidy for windenergy in Brazil ( only logistics ) and conditions are so ideal that it is already cheaper than gas and the other sources. Wind energy came to RN to stay and to develop the region on a sustainable basis.
Energy is necessary for economic production and therefore growth and it is perhaps the main attraction for investors and developers.
Brazil was the last in and the first out of the international crisis.
Brazil receives the highest amount of foreign direct investments ( relative to its economy and population ) and it is rising year over year.
